Lent to the exhibition, Baule: African Art/Western Eyes, curated by Dr. Susan Vogel, this delicate figure was collected in Africa in 1968. Exhibited at the de Young Museum in San Francisco from 1972 to 1976, it  also toured the Yale University Art Gallery, The Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum for African Art in New York and the National Museum of African Art at the Smithsonian through 1999.
